Upcoming CPIM Module Review Courses

Basics of Supply Chain Management

Check out our upcoming class.

Scott Hinton recently obtained his CPIM certification after completing instructor led review courses through the North Central Ohio Chapter. Here's what Scott had to say about his CPIM program experience.

"My APICS CPIM experience began as an opportunity for me.  My company, The Wooster Brush Company offered it to me as a chance to learn more and grow in the inventory and scheduling functions I am responsible for.  My boss is certified and I have always been impressed with the depth of his knowledge.  I have to admit I was somewhat apprehensive about trying to get certified in an area I didn't have a great deal of experience in yet. The North Central Chapter of APICS has been helpful throughout the entire process and I am proud to say I am affiliated with them.  The facilities for instruction were top notch thanks to the Gorman-Rupp Company.  The Chapter had experienced, knowledgeable instructors come in to review the material.  I was always impressed with the amount of on-the-job experiences they had to share.  My advice for those thinking about enrolling in the APICS CPIM program is to start the journey now and stick with it.  You will come out of it with way more than a certification. I have learned so much working towards my certification.  I know it will guide my career path until the day I retire.  Although it was one of the hardest things I have done in my life, it is also one of the greatest accomplishments as well. I think my company is beginning to understand the value of an APICS certification.  Nothing can replace experience, but if you can wear the many different hats and understand the different areas of your organization you will be able to do your job better and be successful. That is what an APICS CPIM certification helps you do."

CPIM Reconfiguration

At the 2016 Conference and Expo in Washington, D.C., APICS announced that the Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program will be reconfigured to better serve the needs of the supply chain workforce. Changes to the program are based on direct feedback from our members and reflect APICS’s ability to evolve along with supply chain management.

The new configuration will:
  • Move from a 5-module exam configuration to a 2-module exam configuration
  • Bring the CPIM program more in line with the format and delivery expectations of other APICS certification products
  • Address content overlap between modules
  • Streamline the preparation process and improve efficiency of the APICS CPIM designation

What does that mean for you here in North Central Ohio:

  • Your CPIM Certification journey can start right now
  • Starting now could save you some money
  • The Basics of Supply Chain Management review course we are currently offering from the current 5 module format can be applied to the new program as completion of Part 1*
  • Once released later in 2017, our chapter will offer Part 2 of the new program and you can complete your certification with just two review courses and two exams
  • If you have completed multiple modules of the 5 module certification program, you still have time to complete the remaining modules. Contact us to assist you.

*Upon successful completion of the BSCM Exam
